The Traffic Lights System - Our Response
Auckland transitioned within the Traffic Light System on 30 December to Risk Level ORANGE. This will bring fresh opportunities and a new framework to work within. It offers our church community some additional options as we continue to walk together. We'll be reviewing our settings following the expected Cabinet update on 17 January.
Servant Leaders, Staff and Core Leaders have been working on developing our response as a community in line with the scriptural principles we've been sharing during The Elephant in the Room series. At the heart of our response is the thought process that the church is not defined by external events and forces but responds to them as a body which is indivisible. We've been greatly helped by the survey responses from the cession family. We've also been guided by our national movement's Theological Reflections and call on churches to embody:
unrelenting mission,
radical inclusion &
sacrificial care
as we move forward together.
Through December & January we'll be gathering in a variety of ways that allow us to continue reaching people, offer safe environments for gathering and embrace our whole church family. We've prepared some FAQ's that provide more detail on our decision-making process and rationale.
December 2021
12, 19 & 24 December, we will add an option for worshipping with others at the Depot. We will continue to offer online opportunities to connect to our worship service. We'll be getting creative with how we worship together from a variety of locations, including homes and the Depot. We'll run a Cultivate Kids option at the Depot and plan for a safe dinner option.
Attendance at Depot gatherings in December will require a Vaccination Pass in line with Government requirements at RED for Gatherings up to 100 people.
Communion on Wheels will be available mid-week throughout the December period email Brett
Cell Groups and other smaller gatherings will be able to continue under Risk Level Red. Details will be provided for how these smaller gatherings will operate once the detailed guidelines are available.
