The cockerel crowing reminds me of the choices Peter made and how God stood by him – even though Peter had not stood by Jesus. Peter denied he knew Jesus three times when Jesus was being led to trial. Later, Peter did a total turn around - and God used him mightily.
It’s the same for us. We can make poor choices, reflect, repent, ask for forgiveness and establish a living relationship with God. Yes, God will forgive us and we can make new choices. We choose the paths we travel and God goes with us.
The cockerel reminds me of us making choices and God going with us in spite of our fallibilities.
