INDUSTRIAL CROSS - Medium - Woodwork

This cross was made using re purposed hardwood (Radiata pine, Corsican pine, Larch, Douglas fir and Australian Eucalypt hardwood variants). Originally cross arms/sleepers used in New Zealand’s electricity network industry. INSPIRATION “Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me” Mark: 8:34 KJV When reflecting on the cross I often find myself drawn to this scripture. It pulls me in to question what the cross means to me. Where do I find my cross and can I carry it? I believe that through the sacrifice of His only son, God bought love, grace, freedom, forgiveness and redemption. These things, gifted to us, at the price of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross so that we might live through Him. If I believe this, surely, the cross that I carry is all that Jesus has done for me and all he will do for me still. Just as the cross you carry is your witness of all that He has done for you. The cross gifts us all that was bought, through great sacrifice. Just as Jesus gifts us all that He is, through great love. Each day we carry the hope, love and forgiveness of the cross within us. We carry it all the places we travel, weather ordinary or extraordinary and we can offer the power of the cross to others who need what it is that we carry. What is your cross? Take some time to consider what the cross means to you... Perhaps take some time to journal or take this question on a lock down walk…
