cession|community is under the spiritual oversight of our Servant Leaders, who operate as our elders: Vania Dunn, Scott Kelso, Brett Jones, Jacob Powell, Frank Ritchie and Richelle Webb.

cession|core is a group of ministry team leaders charged with coordinating the ministry of the cession|community

Our pastors are Brett Jones and Paul Milbank (Youth)

Pastor Brett Jones

Brett is the founding pastor of cession|community and is on record as saying he would be a part of cession|community even if he wasn’t paid to be there!

Brett is passionate about seeing people reach their God-given potential. He revels in the creativity that is a part of who cession|community is becoming. Brett’s strangest moment came when he baptised his cat, Sabre.

Maree Robinson - cession|connect

Maree heads up our worship arts ministry at cession|community. She leads a creative and vibrant bunch of artists and musicians across a range of ministries - cession|chaordic (creative), cession|canvas (set) and connect|music. A mother of 2 and talented creative, Maree moonlights as The Pink Bear. She loves coke way too much…

Cathy Sosoli - cession|contact

Cathy is giving leadership to cession|contact - helping ensure people remain high on our agenda! cession|contact encompasses first|contact (newcomers), first|impressions (hospitality and set up), cession|chow (our Sunday night meals) and care|first (caring for people). Cathy has a committed and growing team working with her. Don’t cross her though: when provoked Cathy has been known to raid homes and sew the legs of trousers up!

Reuben Dunn - cession|cre8

Reuben leads cession|cre8 the Technical and Media arm of cession. Reuben is passionate about using technology to reach people with the gospel. He is a director of Active Audio and Lighting Ltd and Defined-Solutions Ltd, a company which provides design and computer solutions for a wide range of organisations including churches. Reuben is an urban Maori rediscovering his roots through the medium of fresh wholegrain bread.

Jon Emmitt - cession|comms

Jon heads up cession|communicate, our publicity team with overall responsibility for our communications including marketing, advertising, website and promotional materials. Jon’s background in marketing and small business is further enhanced by his talent for creativity and innovation. While Jon dresses well and likes art house movies, he has no talent for interior decorating.

Liz Kelso and Katie Buckley - kids encounter

Katie and Liz are the double act leading our Children’s and Family Ministries. Liz’s background in primary school education and experience in children’s ministry sees her well-qualified for this role. Katie’s Bachelor of Applied Theology and her love of children combine wonderfully in this ministry. Katie and Liz work with a team of committed volunteers in Kids Encounter (ages 2-10) and L’il Lambs (ages 0-2). It sounds dodgy but Katie and Liz live together…with their husbands in the Buckley-Kelso commune!

Pastor Paul Milbank - cession|collide

Paul Milbank leads our ministry to youth. Paul is with a passion for youth. In 2010, Paul is serving cession|community as a youth ministry intern as he returns to study at Carey College leaving behind a career as a plastics engineer - to realise his dream of becoming a youth pastor. Paul is joined in ministry by Melissa Wilson, also serving as a youth ministry intern while at Carey. Paul loves cars - he loves them a lot - sadly his hatchback doesn’t quite return the love!

Melva Ritchie - cession|compass.

Melva’s passion for taking the love of Jesus Christ to people has seen her assume the role of cession|compass ministry leader - our community and global missions ministry. Melva is a Speech Language Therapist, mother of one and wife of one. All of which fully utilises her flair for organisation!
